Letters: Slert has clearly spelled out vision for Crescent City

As a Crescent City resident who is very concerned with the inadequacies of the present City Council, I pray that everyone takes into account the performance history and experience of each candidate before casting that all-important vote.

The time obviously has arrived for new leadership and a better vision for Crescent City that works from several standpoints, including greater concentration on crime prevention, business development and infrastructure. To acquire a feel for the kind of change that is needed here, all one has to do is walk the streets of this rather unique community and imagine what we might have accomplished over the past 12 years with more qualified elected and appointed leaders.

The property blight, the tangle of overhead utility lines, the struggling businesses all beg for solutions.

In my view, the only obvious choice is to vote for Charles Slert. Thoughtfully review his qualifications and you'll find the proof in the pudding. He isn't running to champion social or political agendas, as is the case with certain other candidates. Indeed, he has spelled out in detail what his vision would be as a member of the City Council, and the others simply haven't.
