Letters: Crescent City Nursing & Rehab keeps client happy |
Crescent City Nursing & Rehab located on Marshall Street needs a commendation. And owner Jeff Davis deserves a pat on the back for a job well done. I have a very happy client there. Not only is she in good spirits because she's well taken care of, but her family members are delighted as well. You see, when a nursing home stay becomes necessary, it's really hard in so many ways. Guilt, anger, and fear all enter into the picture. Guilt, because there's a part of us that wants to take care of our family members; but sometimes it's just too hard. Anger, because so many times it becomes the duty of one family member to handle most everything. Fear, when you wonder what's going to happen when the money runs out, or about forgetting meds because you're just too tired and overwhelmed. I've visited many nursing homes throughout California because of my profession. I've also had my father in two different nursing homes for short durations when it became too hard for us to handle him before his death. But, when I walk into Crescent City Nursing & Rehab and talk to my client, she's got a smile on her face. Even though she's mostly blind, she's happy and talkative and praises the people, the food, and the facility. What a joy it is for me to witness this. In the last year, I've complained about a variety of issues. Please know that I know how to write an "orchid" letter as well as an "onion" letter. Crescent City Nursing & Rehab deserves a lot more credit than even I'm giving them. Donna Westfall Crescent City |
