Letters: Obama is unqualifiedto command U.S. military |
We're a short time away from one of the most important presidential elections in a generation. With two wars at hand, we have to choose a candidate that can lead our troops to victory, keep our country safe, support our troops in all respects, and I really believe he has to have been in the service himself. We have the perfect candidate, John McCain, a true leader that was in the Naval Air Force with many years in the service. We all know of his being a prisoner for many years. We have the other candidate, Barack Obama, that voted for not going to war on the terrorists in Iraq. The whole world said Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. How was Obama so smart to know that they didn't? He wasn't that smart. Oh, by the way, Congress voted to go to war in Iraq and our president agreed. Obama is like Bill Clinton, John Kerry, Ted Kennedy and many of the other war protesters that will watch our country being struck eight times like Clinton did and do nothing, which caused 9/11 and 3,000 of our people to be killed. Obama voted against money for our troops, had a timeline pull-out plan in Iraq, a white flag pullout, with defeat a sure thing in fighting the terrorists in Iraq. I was in the Air Force in Korea during the war, and I can't believe he is qualified to be commander in chief. Another thing: His past accomplishments in the Senate amounted to nothing. Look at Obama's past friends and his shady past. I wonder who this guy is? Since the Democrats took over Congress two years ago, the price of gas went over $4 a gallon, home mortgages went bad, unemployment rates increased, inflation worsened. Thought the Democrats were going to solve all our troubles? Obama is going to raise taxes, you can be sure of this. Clinton raised taxes on the middle class 12 times after promising he wouldn't. Look at Obama's past record. It's nothing but dismal. Vote for John McCain and Sarah Palin; they will not raise your taxes, they can get our country back to normal, they have a good past record of accomplishments. Support our country and our great troops. George Pantell Crescent City |
