Letters: McKernan, Ramsey and Thurmond for Harbor Comm. |
Our harbor is in trouble. The present Harbor District Commissioners have failed us. Lease renewals with triple-digit rent increases, presented with unreasonable conditions attached to the contracts, have caused a loss of tenants. They have not succeeded in making the harbor an attractive feature for the community. Even the restrooms are not kept clean, a relatively inexpensive and simple thing to do. Now is a good time to remove the incumbents. Candidates Kevin McKernan, James Ramsey and Kelley Thurmond clearly deserve our vote. At the recent Triplicate Candidate Forum they were thoughtful, energetic and had sound proposals for bringing our unique harbor toward its full potential. Let's see if our harbor can once more be Crescent City's premier asset. Carmen Hollinsead Crescent City |
