Letters: Sanches' professed beliefs, actions don't recommend her |
I could hardly believe what I read in The Triplicate last week in relation to the city clerk's election ("Clerk race borders on bizarre," Oct. 24). First: Joei Sanches gets fired from the city. Second: Joei sues the city. Being a resident of the city, I take that personally. The city will lose time and money regardless of the outcome. Third: Joei wants the city residents to give her another job as city clerk. Fourth: As a defense against some of the allegations against her, Ms. Sanches declares herself an atheist. Probably not a good idea in a predominately Christian community where the only thing more important than organized sports is organized religion. How does this read: "Hi, I'm Joei. I'm suing you and I don't believe in your god or any god. Will you elect me as city clerk? My attorney fees are killing me!" With all that said, what do you think? Greg Forsht Crescent City |
