Letters: Nickerson is a disgrace to this community and to her position

In regards to the Oct. 24 Triplicate article ("Clerk race borders on bizarre"), unbelievable! Absolutely unbelievable, the depths City Clerk Dianne Nickerson will go to in order to win an election. Now she is showing her true nature for everyone to see. She is a disgrace to this community and to her position. Based on this alone, you have every reason you now need to not vote for Dianne and to instead vote and show your support for Joei Sanches.

Joei Sanches has been a crusader for the people, both while finance director and after. She uncovered improper city and county sewer rate increases, allowing county residents to get back the $60,000 they were over-charged. She helped bring to light the illegal annuity accounts and tried to return the money to the city's general fund. Those of you who know Joei, and those of you who have met her, whether it be through her tireless volunteering or her door-to-door campaigning, know she has the people of Crescent City as her No. 1 priority. She is both professional and well educated.

You won't see her stoop to juvenile political tactics like Dianne just did. The fact is Dianne is getting desperate, her time is running out. A grand jury and the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association are investigating the sewer protest vote count. To date, 180 votes in the sewer rate protest vote that we all took part in have been incorrectly counted. That's a 13 percent inaccuracy! Guess who the inaccuracy favors? Yes, the city, not the public.

Look folks, we need honesty back in our city; it's the only way "you" will get representation and feel confident that when you cast a vote for something it will be counted and counted correctly. Don't believe everything you hear Dianne and her buddy Dianne VonHeeder say to disgrace the one person they are afraid will give you a voice.
