Letters: Home remedy keepschildren's heads lice-free |
I would like to again inform parents of the best remedy for lice I found when my children were in school: Rosemary Essential Oil. It's readily available and inexpensive, has no side effects, is non toxic, and can be used as often as necessary. (It should not be used on anyone allergic to rosemary.) To use, put 2-5 drops on your hands, rub together, and rub into your child's hair. Then add one drop per ounce in the child's shampoo. Wait half an hour and have your child wash his or her hair. The lice and nits wash out. Rosemary Essential Oil dissolves the glue holding nits on the hair. No combing nits out ever again. Putting the essential oil in shampoo prevents your child from getting lice in the first place and if your children shampoo daily, they will not have lice anymore. Essential oils are not oily. The essential oil evaporates with no oily residue. If your child has classmates with lice, put the essential oil on your child's hair before school. Your child will not bring any lice home. Here's to a bug-free school district. Terry Mize Crescent City |
