Donations requested to send McCovey to event

Del Norte High senior heavyweight wrestler Roger “Bronc” McCovey is seeking donations to take part in the High School Senior Nationals Wrestling Championships in Virginia Beach in April. McCovey is the defending state heavyweight champion and is undefeated this year. He is currently ranked No. 1 in the state. McCovey is also ranked first in the entire nation for heavyweights, according to Connect Wrestling, a national Web site. Last year he placed third at the junior national wrestling championships in Virginia Beach, considered the elite wrestling event in the country.
