Police Logs April 4, 2009

Here are excerpts from the Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office  call logs for March 26- March 31.

Thursday, March 26

• At 10:50 a.m., $400 was reported stolen from an office on the 900 block Pine Grove Road.

• At 11:47 a.m., a truck was reported stolen from the 1500 block of Lake Street.

• At 3:58 a.m., report of someone entered a home without permission  on the 10000 block of U.S. Highway 199 in Gasquet.

• At 4:23 p.m., building materials, tools and other construction items were reported stolen from the 2000 block of Howland Hill Road.

• At 5:01 p.m., an assault was reported on the 500 block of Joaquin Avenue.

Friday, March 27

• At 5:07 a.m., possible prowler reported at a home on the 400 block of Childs Avenue.

• At 9:25 a.m., tools were reported stolen from a job site on the 400 block of Wendell Street.

• At 11:05 a.m., a car was reported wrapped in plastic wrap, drizzled in maple syrup and sprinkled with Oreos in the 1000 block of Malaney Lane.

• At 1:23 p.m., two shoplifting suspects were detained at Crescent City Hay and Feed, 160 Elk Valley Road.

• At 7:35 p.m., drug activity was reported on Lagoon Avenue.

• At 8:44 p.m., Crescent City and volunteer fire department responded to  two gallons of gas spilled at a trailer Park, 1811 Northcrest Drive.

• At 8:45 p.m., report of shots fired on the 2000 block of Holben Road.

Saturday, March 28

• At 3:11 a.m., vehicle theft reported in the 650 block Fifth Street. Case transferred to city police.

• At 4:56 p.m., attempted theft of   wood paneling on the side of a home reported on the 700 block of Lauff Avenue.

• At 7:07 p.m., two shoplifting suspects detained at Wal-Mart on Washington Boulevard.

• At 9:23 p.m., attempted assault reported on the 200 block of Maiden Lane.

Sunday, March 29

• At 9:29 p.m., assault reported at the Anchorage Harbor RV Park, 159 Starfish Way.

• At 4:32 p.m., Sutter Coast Hospital reported a patient had an ear injury caused by an assault with a beer can.

• At 5:23 p.m., a dog was reportedly attacked by another dog at Small and Inyo streets.

• At 6:11 p.m., a possible juvenile victim of molestation was reported from Sutter Coast Hospital.

Monday, March 30

• At 9:56 a.m., people were reported trespassing in a home on the 600 block of Humboldt Road.

• At 11:33 a.m., a person walking her dog on the the 2900 block of Elk Valley Road said cattle ran toward her dog, then she saw the cattle’s owner fire two shots as if to scare her dog, not the cattle.

• At 11:39 a.m., $85 worth of gas was reported siphoned from the 100 block of Redwood Drive in Klamath.

• At 1:06 p.m., a person reported the fraudulent use of a social security number to make purchases on the 1100 block of Stanton Avenue.

• At 1:13 p.m., a person was reported missing at the Klamath Kamper Korral at 18151 U.S. Hwy. 101.

• At 1:25 p.m., a person was reported to be living in a home on the 100 block of Bulletin Road that should be abandoned.

• At 4:18 p.m., a big-screen TV was reported stolen from the 100 block of Pioneer Road in Gasquet.

• At 4:50 p.m., a fake $5 bill was reported by Chetco Federal Credit Union in Smith River on Fred Haight Drive.

• At 7:41 p.m., a woman reported her granddaughter came into her home on the 650 block of Glenn Street and stole an undetermined amount of money.

• At 8:15 p.m., two males were reported fighting at Sutter Coast Hospital.

Tuesday, March 31

• At 2:52 a.m., two juveniles carrying bags were reported jumping a fence from a swamp behind a home on the 300 block of East Madison.

• At 4:06 a.m., a 1992 Toyota truck hit a power pole on Elk Valley Road, just west of Maiden Lane. The 24-year-old driver was transported to Sutter Coast Hospital for a complaint of pain to his right leg.

• At 5:18 a.m., a person reported a rope was tied around an entire back yard on the 2100 block of Lagoon Ave.

• At 9:48 a.m., report of an airplane flying over a home on the 12900 block of Stanton Road in Smith River dropping orange and white flares.

• At 10:51 a.m., report of harassment and vandalism at a home on the 100 block of Park Avenue.

• At 1:08 p.m., theft of a Color Guard uniform, fishing pole, tackle box and other items from an unlocked vehicle reported on the 9600 block U.S. Hwy. 199.

• At 2:47 p.m., break-in reported at a home on the 700 block of Ashford Road in Hiouchi.

• At 3:26 p.m., break-in reported at a home on the 500 block of Reddy Avenue.

• From 5:50 to 8:03 p.m., two shoplifting suspects were detained at Wal-Mart on Washington Boulevard.

 

Here are excerpts from the activity log of the Crescent City Police Department for March 26- April 1.

Thursday, March 26

• At 8:15 a.m., yelling and screaming were reported at a transient camp at the beach on the  west end of Fifth Street. Police responded and found the camp to be a fire hazard, and said they would return to remove it.

• At 11:15 a.m., police assisted a juvenile who had an accident involving a tabletop power tool used for grinding at Del Norte High School.

• At 2:40 p.m., a 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of spousal battery at Third and K streets.

• At 7:30 p.m., a combative shoplifter was detained at Shopsmart, 953 Northcrest Drive. A 40-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of battery and shoplifting. Police attended to cuts on an employee.

Friday, March 27

• At 9:31 a.m., tools were reported stolen from a locked garage on the 400 block of Wendell Street.

• At 5 p.m., police assisted the Sheriff’s Office and the California Highway Patrol with a foot pursuit of a wanted person on Northcrest and Madison. The police dog followed the suspect’s track for a half-hour to a fence in the area. A CHP helicopter also responded, but the suspect was not found.

Saturday, March 28

• At 1:31 a.m., domestic violence was reported at a home on the 1000 block of Fifth Street.

• At 3:17 a.m., a vehicle was reported stolen on the 100 block of E Street . At 6:09 p.m., the suspect driving the stolen vehicle was reported to be at a home on the 700 block of D Street. The suspect and vehicle were not found. At 6:25 p.m., the stolen vehicle was located on the 1000 block of U.S. Highway 101 and was returned to the owner. The suspect was not found.

• At 10 a.m., report of a car hitting a pedestrian at Ninth and M streets.

• At 8:20 p.m., an  assault was reported at El Patio Motel, at 655 H St.

Sunday, March 29

• At 1:40 a.m., a person was reported walking into a home on the 500 block of Wilson Avenue, turning on a light and then leaving. Police suspect the door may have been kicked in.

• From 10:17 to 11:59 a.m. police patrolled the transient camps at the U.S. Hwy. 101 shopping center. Camps were found, but no arrests were made.

• At 3:45 p.m., a person was reported kicking in the door of a home on the 650 block of Pacific Avenue.

• At 5 p.m., theft of a TV was reported from the 1000 block of Pacific Avenue. It was recovered the next day.

Monday, March 30

• At 1:02 a.m., a 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dining and leaving without paying at Denny’s, 1225 Fifth St.

• At 6:20 a.m., a transient was found sleeping in the bathroom in Safeway in the U.S. Hwy. 101 shopping center.

Tuesday, March 31

• At 12:21 p.m., police assisted Child Protective Services with report of child abuse case in the 900 block of Pacific Avenue.

• From 1:45 to 4:02 p.m., police patrolled transient camps at the U.S. Hwy. 101 shopping center. A 27-year-old man was arrested on an Oregon warrant.

• At 8:05 p.m., police responded to a domestic disturbance at the El Patio Motel, 655 H St. A 52-year-old man was arrested for an out-of-county warrant and a 48-year-old woman was arrested for public intoxication.

• At 8:20 p.m., a person reported a battery at El Patio Motel, 655 H St.

• At 10:15 p.m., a person was reported camping at Fifth and K streets. A 52-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication.

Wednesday, April 1

• At 4:01 a.m., police responded to a reported domestic disturbance at a home on the 700 block of Ninth Street.

• At 10:12 a.m., police assisted the California Highway Patrol by putting a spike strip at U.S. Highway 101 and Anchor Way. CHP pulled the suspect over before she reached the strip.

• At 3:41 p.m., a dog fight  was reported on the 100 block of East Coolidge.

• At 4:25 p.m., prescription fraud was reported at Safeway in the U.S. Hwy. 101 shopping center.

• At 7:05 p.m., a 48-year-old woman was arrested at the El Patio Motel, 655 H St., on suspicion of resisting arrest.

• At 9:30 p.m., police responded to a home on the 1000 block of East Condor to assist the Sheriff’s Office with the arrest of a 42-year old man on suspicion of public intoxication, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana and parole violation.
