• Michael Scott McCown, 46, died June 4, 2009, in Smith River. The three-year resident of Del Norte County was born May 12, 1963, in Portland, Ore.
Memorial services will announced at a later date. Arrangements by Wier’s Mortuary Chapel of Crescent City. • Alva Louise Lane, 71, died May 28, 2009, in Oregon. She was born July 27, 1937, in Crescent City, where she lived for more than 50 years. No services are planned. Donations can be made in her name to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Wilsons Chapel of the Roses, Roseburg, Ore. • Judith Wershoven, 56, died May 26, 2009, in Crescent City. The local resident was born May 19, 1953. Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 220 E Macken, Crescent City. • Anita Marie Sutherland, 73, died June 5, 2009, in Crescent City. The 41-year resident of Del Norte county was born Nov. 26, 1935, in Weed. A celebration of life service will be held at Beachfront Park on Saturday at noon. If it’s raining, services will be at the home of Rebecca and Matt Keene. Arrangements by Wier’s Mortuary Chapel of Crescent City. • Peggy May Butterfield, 81, died June 6, 2009, in Crescent City. The 10-year resident of Del Norte County was born May 4, 1928, in England. No services will be held. Arrangements by Wier’s Mortuary Chapel of Crescent City. |
