Comedian donates tickets for raffle

Comedian Rob Schneider’s generosity will take two Crescent City residents to a Giants baseball game.

Schneider donated two VIP tickets for the Giants vs. Phillies baseball game Aug. 1 that will be raffled off today.
The two winners should not worry about getting nosebleeds.

“These are great tickets,” said Crescent City Police Chief Doug Plack. Winners will be sitting in the 13th row of section “C”, between home plate and first base.

Schneider donated the tickets to Crescent City K-9 volunteer Suzie Spehling, and the raffle is a benefit for the department’s K-9 unit.

“Suzie has a connection to Rob Schneider,” Plack said. “He’s very pro-police, pro-law enforcement. We feel very fortunate that we have this opportunity to raise funds for our K-9 unit.”

Schneider was a featured cast member of “Saturday Night Live” and movie actor in the “Deuce Bigalow” series and “The Hot Chick,” among others.

The $5 raffle tickets are available at the Crescent City Police Department and the drawing is being held today. To purchase a raffle ticket either contact the department (707) 464-2141, or call Suzie Spehling at (707) 487-0643 ext. 7479.

According to Plack, this is just the first in a number of benefits the department is planning on having.

“We’re not sure what or when but expect to see more benefits like dinners and raffles in the near future,” Plack said.
