Obituary: Spencer T. Parker (Aug. 10, 1929 - July 20, 2009)

A resident of his beloved Hiouchi, Spencer T. Parker, was born in Morgan Hill, Calif. on August 10, 1929 and passed away on Monday, July 20, 2009 in Crescent City. Spencer, a retired automotive specialist, loved to race cars and tend to his beautiful garden. Spencer was Past Grand Master of California for the International Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F). He served as Secretary and Treasurer for the Crescent City Fraternal Order of the Eagles.

Spencer is survived by his wife, Wanita, and his children, Jeff Parker, Jennifer Giffin, Stephanie Olvera, and Robert Parker;  stepchildren, LaVeta McBee, George Allon McBee and Bob Lynch; grandchildren, Thomas Giffin, Nicholas Giffin, Melissa Mazzei, Sara Parker, Holly Olvera, Amy Bou; many great-grandchildren and his sister, Janet Detwiler. Spencer was preceded in death by his son, Randal Parker.

Spencer will be remembered for his generous spirit by all of his family and many friends.

Services will be held at the I.O.O.F. Lodge in Crescent City on Sunday, July 26 at 2:00 p.m. The family encourages contributions in his memory to the I.O.O.F Three Links Camp, P.O. Box 2115, Cameron Park, Calif. 95682.
