• Harvey Shafer, 86, died July 26, 2009. The longtime Del Norte County resident was born Oct. 14, 1922, in Rio Del.

Celebration of life services will be held on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at the VFW Memorial Hall, 810 H St., Crescent City. Contributions in Harvey’s memory can be made to the Del Norte Veterans Cemetery Maintenance Fund. Donations may be sent to Wier’s Mortuary, 408 G St., Crescent City, CA 95531. Arrangements by Wier’s Mortuary Chapel of Crescent City.

• Rayanna Danielle Lane Nail, 10, died July 31, 2009. The Klamath resident was born May 2, 1999, in Crescent City.

Services will be Aug. 9 at 2 p.m. at Peckers Knob.
