Alana Bates, left, Uncharted Shores Academy employee, performs a puppet show with Natalie Chapman, a prospective new student, at the academy’s fair booth at the Del Norte County Fair on Friday, August 7. The Academy gave away helium balloons and presented puppet shows as part of its annual fair display. A total of 37 students, 14 of whom were kindergartners, were recruited during the fair, bringing the Academy's total to about 140 students to begin the school year.
