Backyard black bear

A black bear comes calling at the residence near Tolowa Dunes State Park of Rick Hiser and Sue Calla earlier this month.

"He's just a sweetie," said Calla, adding that the bear has visited on other occasions as well. More bear sightings than ususual have been reported in Del Norte County this year, according to state Fish and Game officials.
