2009 Apprentice Pheasant Hunt Seniors may quality for wheelchair Photo show entries sought
2009 Apprentice Pheasant Hunt
The California Department of Fish and Game Special Hunts Program will offer its 2009 Apprentice Pheasant Hunt on Oct. 31 at Lake Earl Wildlife Area. Participants up to age 15 will need to have a junior hunting license and an upland game bird stamp. An orientation is required and will be at 8 a.m. and noon. Applications can be obtained at Coast True Value Hardware, Del Norte Office Supply, Wal-Mart or online at www.dfg.com . Only 32 applications will be accepted and must be received by the department in Sacramento by Oct. 5. For information call Steve Bigham at 464-6552.
Miracle on Wheels is working to increase public awareness about assistance options for obtaining power wheelchairs for little or no cost. Those who are suffering from any condition that severely limits their mobility should call Miracle on Wheels at (800) 400-4210.
Registration forms are being accepted for participation in the Coast Redwoods Art Association’s 2009 Juried Photo Show to be held at Crescent Harbor Gallery from Oct. 3-30. The deadline to enter is Sept. 19. The entry fee is $5 per piece, with a limit of four entries. Pieces must be no larger than 40 inches each side, including frame. An opening reception will be held on Oct. 3 from 6-8 p.m. in which winners will be announced. A drawing to win dinner for two at the Nautical Inn will also be held.
