Obituary: Frank Dewaine Coleman (Aug. 19, 1934 - Aug. 21, 2009)

Frank Dewaine Coleman, 75, passed away on August 21, 2009, in Gasquet. He was born on August 19, 1934, in Davenport, Wash. He was a 50 year resident of Del Norte County. Frank was a veteran, having served with the U.S. Army twice. He was an 11 year member of the Gasquet Volunteer Fire Department. Frank was a commercial fisherman and truck driver for over 30 years. He loved spending time with family, friends and spending time in his garden and flowers. Frank will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Frank is survived by his companion, Dona Eggen of Gasquet; son, Dale Flynn and wife, Wendy of Crescent City; daughters, Roxanna Tackett of Gasquet and Cindy Ann Coleman of Lakeside, Ore.; sister, Donna Patterson and husband, Joe of Penryn, Calif.; brothers, Gerald Coleman and wife, Marge of Crescent City; Delbert Coleman of Crescent City; and Walter Coleman and wife, Bonnie of Cottonwood, Calif.; grandchildren, Shane and Tanya Tackett; Dustin Young; and Casey Mather; great-grand-children, Shannon, Kalynn, Trenton Tackett and Madison Young; cousins, Lewis Cattanauch and wife, LaVonne of Shingletown, Calif.; and several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Hazel Coleman, and wife, JoAnn Coleman.

The family requests contributions be made to the Gasquet Fire Department, PO Box 85, Gasquet, CA 95543.

A Memorial gathering will be held at the Gasquet Fire Department on September 5, at 3:00 P.M.

Private interment has taken place at the Del Norte County Veteran’s Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wier’s Mortuary Chapel of Crescent City.
