Lorene L. Bach (Jan. 14, 1943 - Aug. 29, 2009)
Lorene L. Bach died August 29, 2009, of a heart attack after a long struggle with diabetes. Born January 14, 1943, in Glenwood, Arkansas, she grew up and lived most of her life in California. She moved to Crescent City in September, 1980. She lived a life of love and service to her family and friends, raising first her children and then her grandson, Christopher, here. An avid reader, she was also a great cook and gardener who loved hummingbirds. She loved the redwoods and the ocean, often saying that she couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. She was uncompromisingly devoted to her family. She lived unwaveringly according to her beliefs and principles throughout her life, despite the personal cost to her at times. A devoted relative and dedicated friend, she will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Surviving are her son, Donald C. Caughey and his wife, Gina, of Colorado Springs, Col.; daughter, Sara L. Fogg and her husband, Russell, of Manchester, N.H.; six grandchildren, Breanna D. Caughey, Ashley D. Caughey, Christopher M. Caughey, Tyler S. Fogg, Justin D. Fogg, and Connor A. Caughey; as well as her sister, Shirley Reynolds of Rocklin, Calif., brothers, Jesse Reynolds of Tacoma, Wash., and Roger Reynolds of Tucson, Ariz., family friends, Steve and Janet Bigham, and numerous other family members. The memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, September 4, at Wier’s Memorial Chapel. Burial will take place at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Crescent City. Arrangements are under the direction of Wier’s Memorial Chapel, Crescent City.
