Former Warriors help college team to win

Former Del Norte High football standouts Saxon Schultz and Trevor Rook both played a role for Shasta College in a win on Saturday. The Knights downed Mendocino College at home in Redding 31-26 to improve to 1-1 for the season. Schultz, a tight end, led the team with 63 yards receiving on seven receptions and caught a 5-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter. Rook, a running back, had seven rushes for 30 yards and averaged 4.9 yards per carry. Both are 2008 graduates of Del Norte and are sophomores at Shasta. |
