Aguilar, Vang score 2 goals each for Del Norte
Edwin Aguilar of the Del Norte High boys soccer team gets ready to kick in a goal versus St. Bernard’s. Aguilar had two goals in the Warriors 6-0 victory over the Crusaders. Del Norte improved to 1-1 overall. The Daily Triplicate/Bryant Anderson The Warriors put up all six goals in the first half, giving the bench a chance to see the field during the second half. Seniors Edwin Aguilar and Cheng Vang were clutch for the Warriors, knocking in two goals apiece. Co-coach A.J. Myer-Zlokovich said the team did a good job controlling the ball, distributing it and taking advantage of shot oppurtunites on goal. Other Warriors who scored were Ian Jager and Moises Molina. Myer-Zlokovich said it was nice to see the team improving its play from the first game of the year, “Overall, I would say it’s a step up,” he said. “Hopefully, we play that way against Big 4 teams.” Myer-Zlokovich said senior sweeper Jeremy Holloway did an excellent job of being calm and keeping the Crusaders from the goal and getting decent shot chances.
