Gustafson was raised in Kansas City, Mo. He had no interest in art whatsoever until forced to attend a show of Vincent Van Gogh’s works at the Nelson Gallery, which changed his life. He started with drawing, then moved to watercolor and acrylics, and has ended up primarily painting in oils. Gustafson alternates between landscapes, seascapes, still life and floral paintings. He taught painting for eight years in Montana before moving to Oregon in 1999. A finger food social precedes the demonstration at 11:30 a.m. For more information, call 464-9133.
