Buck Pierce throws for 343 yards in Lions win

Former Del Norte High  quarterback Buck Pierce had an excellent game in a 16-13 victory for the British Columbia Lions.

Pierce, a 2000 Del Norte graduate had 343 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions in the win over the Saskatchewan Roughri­ders to help the Lions improve to 6-7 for the year in Canadian Football League action on Friday.

Lions placekicker Sean Whyte hit a  33-yard field goal with five seconds remaining to  give the Lions the victory.
