DN JV team falls in three games |
The Del Norte High junior varsity volleyball team lost 16-25, 25-23, 9-15 to Eureka on the road on Tuesday.
After a slow start in the first game, the squad came together and “were on fire” in the second game head coach Erin Louy said, before the Warriors dropped the third and final game. Louy said a key problem in the third game was her team not being able to communicate during serve receive situations. Louy commended Karah Marcinek, who did an excellent job as a back row defensive player, especially with her digs, Louy said. “She dug almost every ball and some of the hits were pretty difficult to get to,” Louy said. Chandler Davis and Morgan Laney each had four kills for Del Norte while Whitney Floyd had two kills. Louy said that while the team lost they have made strides. “It’s just a matter of working out the kinks,” she said. |
