Obituary: Pedro (Pete) Anguiano Hernandez (Aug. 8, 1933 - Oct. 1, 2009)
Pedro (Pete) Anguiano Hernandez, died October 1, 2009.
He was born and raised in Claremont, California. He moved to Smith River in 1989 when Pelican Bay State Prison opened; working as a Assistant Food Service Manager until his retirement in 2006. Pete was proud he served in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956. He loved getting his family together, which he felt was the most important thing in life. He took pleasure in making sure his family and friends were always welcome and well fed; especially on menudo Sundays. When his brothers and sisters were alive he enjoyed playing guitar and singing together at family gatherings. He loved listening to mariachi music and watching his Indianapolis Colts play. Pete is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia; his eleven children and their spouses, Mary (Tunie) and Johnnie Rodriguez, Grace Jauregui, Danniel and Mary Hernandez, Stevie Hernandez, Theresa and Sal Garcia, Michael and Amanda Hernandez, David and Jackie Hernandez, Frank and Tracy Hernandez, Anna and Juan Lopez, Robert Hernandez, Tina and Elloy Navarro; thirty-seven grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juana and Eulalio Hernandez; his brothers and sisters, Faustino Hernandez, Chalo Hernandez, Mary Hernandez, Nacha Hernandez, Cruz Trejo, and Paola Hernandez. Memorial Services will be held at Wier’s Mortuary Chapel on Friday the 9th of October at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements by Wier’s Mortuary Chapel of Crescent City.
