Thanks to Back Country Bicycle for helping with awareness ride
I would like to publicly acknowledge and thank Tom and Nan Latimer of Back Country Bicycle for their caring efforts in hosting the Trekwomen Breast Cancer Awareness Ride that was held Saturday. I would also like to thank all of the sponsors and volunteers who worked to make the ride a great success. Trek Bikes sponsored this nationwide breast cancer awareness bike ride and our local ride was a great event. The weather was perfect and the route was ideal and everyone seemed to be having a wonderful time. If you missed the ride this year, maybe everyone will get a chance to ride next year for this very important cause.

Lets do something about sirens in Crescent City before it’s too late I am writing in regards to our disaster warning siren. I live inside the evacuation area zone and nine out of 10 times, I can’t hear the alarm set off on the second Tuesday of each month. My neighbors have the same problem. Other areas such as Hawaii and San Francisco have alarms along the oceanside of the disaster area (such as on Pebble Beach). Ours is downtown, so depending on how the wind is blowing or other elements, we might hear them. Please, let’s do something before it’s too late for many, many people.
