Freshman FB game cancelled due to lights
The Del Norte High freshman football game against Hoopa was cancelled on Thursday. This was due to the lights at Mike Whalen Field being out, Del Norte High athletic director Tony Fabricius said. The lights were operational by around 4 p.m. Thursday and should be ready to go for the JV and varsity football game tonight.
The Del Norte High boys varsity soccer team downed South Fork 5-3, while the girls tied the Cubs 0-0 on the road. In the girls game the Warriors improved to 0-9-1 for the year with the tie. Gonzalez, who also coached the girls squad on Wednesday, commended goalie Molly Lambert for her excellent play and the top-notch defense of Katy Suzuki and Tami Plechaty.
