Crescent City makes ‘prettiest town’ list |
A photographer, residential designer and a painter all think that Crescent City is one of the best-looking small towns in America.
The travel Web site ForbesTraveler.com recently cited Crescent City as one of “20 towns that are picture-perfect.” To judge the yearly contest, ForbesTraveler.com put together a panel including architectural photographer Alan Blakely, residential designer Erin Anderson and painter John Vander Stelt. Alongside Crescent City are two other California towns, Cambria and Monterey. Others include Burlington, Vt.; Dillon, Mont.; and Deadwood, S.D. All 20 towns can be seen in a slideshow of America’s “prettiest towns” at ForbesTraveler.com. Representing Crescent City is a photo of Battery Point Lighthouse and a description by Blakely: “A quiet town, with big empty beaches, and big stands of redwoods, surrounding it. At 5 a.m. the fisherman head out from the (harbor) and bring back excellent seafood.” |
