Amanda James and Charles Martell were married in a noon ceremony on Aug. 8, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Crescent City. A reception followed at Four Square Church.

Amanda is a 2003 graduate of Castle Rock Charter School. She is the daughter of Woodrow and Kim James of Crescent City.

Charles graduated from Del Norte High School in 2002. He is employed in Environmental Services at Sutter Coast Hospital. His parents are Antonio and Charlene Martell of Crescent City.

Attendants included maid of honor Kim Litz; Tyler Mitchell as best man; bridesmaids McKenna Boyd, Tawnee Boyd, Chasity Vandecar, Jessica Moodie and Jennifer McLellan; groomsmen Antonio Martell, Daniel James, Jesse James, Jerime Lewis and Jimmie McCartney; flower girls and daughters of the couple, Emma and Katelynn; and ring bearers and sons of the couple, Ethan and Charlie.

The couple honeymooned in Canyonville, Ore., and then toured Highway 101 along the Oregon and Washington coasts.
