Marion Lee Timm, 80, passed away on November 5, 2009, in Crescent City. He was born on July 19, 1929, in South Bend, Nebraska. He was a 22- year resident of Del Norte County. The family moved to Lakeport, Calif., where he went to school.
Marion joined the Merchant Marine in 1946, and enlisted in the Army in 1948. He served in combat in Korea from 1950 to 1952 and received the Infantry Combat Badge. In 1953, while stationed in Berlin, Marion met and married Marie. He graduated from San Francisco City College with a degree in Criminology. Marion was employed by the California State Department of Justice, Attorney General office, as an Identification Specialist. He retired after 25 years. Marion is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marie Timm, and niece, Lyle Ann Downhour. Private services will be held and private inurnment will take place at the Del Norte County Veteran’s Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Sutter Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship, C/O Sutter Coast Hospital, 800 East Washington Blvd., Crescent City, CA 95531 or to one’s favorite charity. Arrangements are under the direction of Wier’s Mortuary Chapel of Crescent City. |
