McCovey earns two wins for North Idaho

Heavyweight grappler Roger “Bronc” McCovey continued his strong early season showing at North Idaho College, a two-year school located in Coeur d’Alene, which placed second in the nation for junior colleges last season.

The true freshman, a two time undefeated state of California heavyweight champion for Del Norte High, took part in two home meets on Friday.

In the Cardinal’s 26-12 win over Highline, McCovey defeated Justin Whitney 10-2.

Facing Jose Lopez of Cerritos, McCovey earned a 7-2 win. North Idaho won 33-9. McCovey improved to 3-1 for the year.
