Police logs Nov. 13, 2009

Here are excerpts from the activity log of the Crescent City Police Department for Nov. 5-10.

Thursday, Nov. 5

• At 8:20 p.m. police responded to a female reportedly heard screaming for help at Beachfront Park. The entire area was canvassed and a woman was not located.

• At 6:30 p.m. police assisted ambulance with combative patient on the 300 block of L Street.

Friday, Nov. 6

• At 1 a.m. police responded to a domestic violence call on the 1000 block of U.S. Highway 101 and arrested a man on suspicion of spousal battery.

• At 2:15 a.m. an officer arrested a man on suspicion of violating a court protective order and trespassing on the 300 block of U.S. Hwy. 101.

• At 8:30 a.m. a juvenile was arrested at Del Norte High School, 1301 El Dorado, on suspicion of possession of marijuana under an ounce on school grounds and possession of tobacco on school grounds by a minor.

• At noon a suspicious bike was found and tools possibly used for vehicle burglaries were located on the 1200 block of Jaccard.

• At 10:20 p.m. a locally stolen vehicle was located in Josephine County, Ore.

Saturday, Nov. 7

• At 8:15 a.m. an adult male was advised to not climb the rocks at Battery Point Lighthouse during high-surf warnings or any other time.

• At 1:34 p.m. police assisted the Sheriff’s Office with an altercation between females on the 800 block of G Street.

• At 1:45 p.m. police responded to three males fighting in the parking lot of the U.S. Hwy. 101 shopping center. All three were arrested on suspicion of public intoxication.

• At 8:50 p.m. a car stereo stolen from a vehicle on the 400 block of C Street and two males seen fleeing.

• At 9:40 p.m. police responded to large, out-of-control bonfire on the beach at the end of Fifth Street. An officer attempted to douse the flames with a fire extinguisher before the Fire Department arrived.

• At 10:10 p.m. police responded to a reported assault on the 1400 block of Margie Street and arrested a juvenile on suspicion of battery.

Sunday, Nov. 8

• At 9 a.m. a camera was stolen from a pack on a bike parked in the U.S. Hwy. 101 shopping center.

• At 1:25 p.m. Joe Hamilton School on the 1000 block of E Street reported a 3-foot by 4-foot window had been broken out.

• At 4:45 p.m. a stereo and CDs stolen from a vehicle on the 1400 block of California Street.

• At 10:35 p.m. police responded to a disorderly conduct call at Eighth and E streets and a man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication, probation violation and resisting arrest. A juvenile was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication and resisting arrest and was released to his parents.

Monday, Nov. 9, 2009

• At 9:35 a.m. an unlocked vehicle was stolen from the 1400 block of Jaccard.

• At 3:30 p.m. a man was reported as missing for two weeks from a home on the 700 block of A Street.

• At 5:40 p.m. a boat with an outboard motor and trailer were stolen from a home on the 100 block of West Coolidge.

• At 6:42 p.m. police transported a male who had been assaulted by several other males in his home on the 900 block of Ninth Street.

• At 9:37 p.m. a customer reported that she had been locked inside Rite Aid in the U.S. Hwy. 101 shopping center and an alarm was going off. Police responded and the woman was let out of the store.

Tuesday, Nov. 10

• At 6:45 a.m. a gray, 1989 GMC S15 SUV was stolen from the 800 block of I Street.

• At 10:05 a.m. police watched video surveillance of Rumiano Cheese Factory on the 500 block of Ninth Street that showed a prowler checking windows and doors of the business.
