CHP: DUI suspect’s vehicle hits Pebble Beach guardrail |
A San Jose resident was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after crashing into a guardrail on Pebble Beach Drive early Tuesday.
Jason Brown, 20, was driving south on Pebble Beach Drive just past Hemlock when he swerved to the right and hit a guardrail at about 2 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. If the guardrail had not stopped Brown’s 2003 Ford Focus, it might have gone over an oceanside embankment, authorities said. Brown was treated for a head injury at Sutter Coast Hospital, then arrested and booked into the Del Norte County Jail, the CHP said. “He took a blood test instead of a breathalizer,” said CHP Sgt. Del Gray. “We won’t get the results for a while.” Three passengers, Eric Scott, 18, of San Jose; Heather Aldridge, 18, of Crescent City; and Ashley Bradelle, 19, of Crescent City; sustained minor injuries. |
