Obituaries: Robert (Bob) William Carter (Mar. 8, 1927 - Jan. 26, 2010)

Robert (Bob) William Carter, 81, passed away on January 26, 2010, in Crescent City. He was born on March 8, 1927, in Detroit. Bob served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and later worked as a licensed landscape contractor before becoming a commercial fisherman for approxi-mately 30 years; fishing for salmon and crab. His last boat was the "Debbie T" berthed in Crescent City.

Bob was a realist with a sense of humor and a good friend to many. His kindness manifested itself in his love of animals, especially dogs.

Bob was a good man, worked hard and had a good life.

He is survived by his brother Gerald Carter and two daughters, Linda Pardi and Karen Goldenberg.

There will be no services, however, donations in remembrance of him should be sent to the Humane Society of Del Norte, 821 Elk Valley Road, Crescent City, CA 95531.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wier’s Mortuary Chapel of Crescent City.
