Surely expectorators could pull out a tissue or handkerchief I agree with Julie Blaha, who wrote about the disgusting habit of public spitting (“Disgusting sidewalk sputum as bad as pet poop, smoking,” July 17). Surely these perpetrators could pull out a tissue or handkerchief to use. Actually, phlegm drains down the back of a person’s throat all the time, so there’s no reason not to just swallow the spit. These bodily fluids that people expel get stepped in by unsuspecting pedestrians and tracked into stores and our cars. Ugh! Joyce Kellogg Klamath |
