Walgreens ribbon cutting

Kandi Hussey, holding her 3-year-old son Zephyr, cut the ribbon Friday welcoming Walgreens to Crescent City.Hussey's grandparents, Eugene McNamara Hussey and Beulah Lucille Elkerton-Hussey, used to live where the Walgreens' sign along U.S. Highway 101 is now. The two-story house built in the 1930s was eventually moved to 501 Keller St.A couple from the Bay Area who had met Hussey while passing through told Walgreens store manager Jon Parmentier her story. Parmentier then contacted Hussey and asked her to cut the ribbon. (The Daily Triplicate/Bryant Anderson).
