Toxicology results for three local women who died of drug-related causes within a few days of each other show their deaths were not linked.
The women —27, 32 and 59 years old — died in May, authorities said.
“They were drug overdoses, but it’s three different types of drugs,” said sheriff’s Commander Tim Athey. “We’ve eliminated that it was bad dope.”
It seems the deaths were merely coincidental, Athey said.
County Assistant Coroner Mike Henderson agreed.
Toxicology reports concluded there was methadone in one woman’s system, heroin in another’s and an opiate in a third, Henderson said.
The 27-year-old woman was found in her car parked in her Crescent City driveway after about four days.
The 32-year-old woman was pronounced dead at Sutter Coast Hospital.
The 59-year-old woman was discovered at her house by a friend who was checking on her after not hearing from her for a couple days.
