Locally-owned retail businesses dedicate the day to support of cause
While Del Norte has its own mini-version of Black Friday, complete with special offers and lures for early-bird shoppers, retailers are also promoting “Small Business Saturday.”
For the past three years, small business owners have dedicated a day to supporting small businesses nationwide, called Small Business Saturday.
Small Business Saturday was created by American Express to help small businesses get more exposure during one of the biggest shopping weekends of the year. Last year, over 100 million people came out to shop at independently-owned small businesses.
As a consumer, you are a key part in helping small businesses thrive. By shopping or dining at a small business Saturday, you’re showing your support for all the small businesses around you. This means you could be helping local entrepreneurs offer more jobs, which in turn invigorate the economy.
This year, go out and support your favorite small business and search for unique merchandise while experiencing spectacular service – a cornerstone of many small businesses.
With a handshake, friendly banter, and a favorite product, small businesses fill our days with the things we need and help keep our communities thriving.
