A Crescent City man faces possible assault charges following an altercation at his home Wednesday.
Juan G. Gensaw, 30, and another man got into an argument at Gensaw’s home on Endert Street, and Gensaw allegedly threw a jar at the man, said sheriff’s Commander Tim Athey.
Gensaw went outside and grabbed an ax to return to the residence, but the door was closed as he left, Athey said.
Gensaw then began trying to get back into the house by striking the door with the ax, Athey said, adding authorities arrived before Gensaw was able to get back inside.
Statements gathered from witnesses at the house and neighbors indicated that Gensaw was yelling that he was going to kill the man, Athey said.
Gensaw was arraigned Thursday on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, battery and vandalism.
