A 30-year-old man went a day with a bullet in his back without knowing it.
Benjamin Sedeno of Crescent City was walking down Parkway Drive on Sunday night when he a felt pain surge through his back, said sheriff’s Commander Bill Steven.
The following day the pain continued, so he went to Sutter Coast Hospital, where it was discovered he had a .22 caliber bullet lodged in his back, Steven said.
The bullet didn’t tear through any muscle; it was located just underneath the skin, Steven said.
It could be a case of Sedeno being in the wrong place at the wrong time as a bullet that was fired into the sky came back down, Steven said.
“There’s no known suspect, no motive, the guy doesn’t have anybody that has reason to do it. Nobody is mad at him,” said Steven. “It could possibly be just a freak accident.”
