Burned van found may belong to missing man

BROOKINGS – The Curry County Sheriff's Office is investigating a "burnt out" van that appears to belong to William Glenn Boyer, missing since April 21.

Curry County Sheriff's Office Lt. Dennis Dinsmore said the van was found 25 miles up the Chetco River on a spur road off North Bank Road.

A local family was searching for a place to shoot their guns Tuesday night when they came across the van, which had sustained extensive fire damage. They immediately reported it to authorities.

A Sheriff's Office official said it was too early to determine if any human remains are in the van.

Boyer left his Harbor home around noon April 21 to attend a Marine Corps League meeting in Brookings. He didn't make it to the meeting and hasn't been seen since.
