Local law enforcement, paramedics and members of the Police Explorers lined up on A Street on Thursday evening to wave farewell to former Crescent City Police Chief Doug Plack as he drove home from his last day at work. Plack, whose last day on the job was Thursday, retired from the police force after 11 years as Crescent City Police chief and more than 40 years in law enforcement. Calvin Berry, Plack’s interim replacement, will be sworn in on Monday.
