Crescent City Council approved several items on the agenda at Monday's meeting. Items approved included a waiver of community pool fees for an annual swimming meet in June, a budget modification and a contract for the Fifth street construction project.
The Crescent City Swim Club showed appreciation to the council for waiving the pool fees by offering to run a snack bar and give the proceeds to the city council.
"That is a huge offer of volunteerism," Councilmember Irene Tynes said.
A budget modification request to purchase accounts receivable, fixed assets and project grant modules from Springbrook Software was approved. It will reallocate funds by a one-time allocation of $2,800, and $3,200 every year.
The grant project management works will allow for projects to be tracked better.
Jim Barnts, public works director, presented a contract for the Fifth Street reconstruction project, which was approved to reallocate $55,000 within the contract.
The request was put forth to supply cable, electrical and power lines.
"It has been a struggle getting the work completed with funding. I am requesting about a $55,000 transfer," Barnts said.
"The bid is around $158,000 we have already put about $47,000 into it," he said. "I am sure we can get it done with the $55,000. It is a busy street."
The approval also allows for the mayor to execute the contract.
