EUREKA The College of the Redwoods Board of Trustees has unanimously voted to work with an executive search firm to find interim presidential candidates for the college.
"While we will use the services of a professional search firm to help us identify candidates to fill the interim president position, the trustees will also be able to seek applicants by our own efforts," College of the Redwoods Board President Milt Dobkin said.
Professional Personnel Leasing, Inc, an executive search firm that works with California's community colleges, will conduct the hunt.
The nine trustees could not reach accord last week on whom to choose from their three finalists after interviewing them for the permanent president position.
They did agree to appoint an interim president for a term of up to one year for the 2007-08 school year, but their goal is to have an interim president in place at the end of this fiscal year, which is July 1.
Acting College of the Redwoods President Jeff Bobbitt will return to his previous position that same date, senior vice president of academic affairs, which he has held since 1998. Bobbitt has served as the college's chief executive for this school year.
The college has a branch campus in Crescent City.
