Today
The Del Norte Senior Center will hold the following activities:
•Crochet and knitting 2-4 p.m.
•Gentle yoga 4:30-5:30 p.m.
•Folk dancing 7:30-9 p.m.
Today’s Senior Lunch will be rigatoni and spinach, peas and onions, garlic bread and oranges. Call the Senior Center at 464-3069.

The Smith River Heritage Association will meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Smith River Community Hall, 241 W. First St. Everyone is welcome. Call 487-3025.

Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will hold a “Marketing Basics” workshop from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at The College of the Redwoods, Del Norte, 883 W. Washington Blvd., Room 15. The workshop is free and includes materials and handouts. Areas covered include what is a marketing plan?, how to begin thinking like a marketer, basics on target markets, competitive analysis, features
and benefits analysis and market research resources. Workshop ends with a question-and-answer session. Seating is limited. Call 464-2168 to register.


Rural Human Services’ Food Bank Distribution will be today from 9:30 a.m.-noon at the Klamath Community Center, 120 Salmon Ave., and from 1-3 p.m. at the Lighthouse Community Center, 2455 Oliver St. Distribution will also be Wednesday from 9 a.m.-noon at the Smith River Methodist Church, 140 Beckstead St., and at the Veterans Hall, 810 H St. Thursday’s distribution will be from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Rural Human Services offices, 286 M St. California picture ID is required to receive food items, and the ability to self-certify eligibility. Soroptimist International of Crescent City, a service organization for professional women dedicated to helping the women and children of Del Norte County, will meet from noon-1 p.m. at The Apple Peddler Restaurant, 308 Hwy. 101 South.

The Lighthouse Quilt Guild will meet from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Andy Flynn Memorial Hall, 201 Del Norte St. Anyone is welcome to attend and learn, quilt or watch. Call Barbara Allison at 464-9634.

The Del Norte Child Care Council provides First 5 Del Norte’s Play Group from 10:30 a.m.-noon at Margaret Keating Elementary School’s Early Learning Center, 300 Minot Creek Road in Klamath. Free. Call 464-8311 ext. 212.

Del Norte County Adult Education will be in session Tuesdays and Thursdays at 400 W. Harding from 5-7 p.m. Classes will be held on Mondays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at KRECR in the Klamath townsite. Call Alicia at 482-3085 or 954-4656.

Pregnancy Support and Newborn Care class will be held at 10 a.m. at the Pregnancy Care Center, 110 W. Washington Blvd. Free. Call 464-3233.

Crochet class will be from 4-5:30 p.m. at the SONSHINE house behind the New Life Community Church at Second and D streets for ages 8 to adult. Refresh old skills or learn new ones. Bring your own crochet hook and yarn. For questions call 954-5488 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Del Norte County Public Health Department will offer immunizations clinics Tuesdays from 1-2:30 p.m., Wednesdays from 4-5:30 p.m. and Thursdays from 9-10:30 a.m. at 880 Northcrest Drive. No family will be refused for inability to pay. Call 464-3191.

English as a Second Language classes will be offered by College of the Redwoods, Del Norte, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-6 p.m. at 883 W. Washington Blvd. Free. Call 465-2300.

Crescent City Cribbage Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Coast Guard Auxiliary, Marine Way in Crescent City Harbor. All cribbage players welcome. Call Jim at 464-9168.

Tuesday Night Al-Anon will meet from 7-8:30 p.m. in Conference Room B at Sutter Coast Hospital, 800 E. Washington Blvd. Call Pat at 464-3021.

The Del Norte International Folkdancers will hold a free beginning dance class from 7:30-9 p.m. at the Del Norte Senior Center, 1765 Northcrest Drive. All adults over the age of 18 are invited; no experience or partners are necessary. The first 45 minutes will be devoted to the beginning class and the remainder of the time to dance requests. Wednesday

Today’s Senior Lunch will be chicken pie with biscuit, carrots, celery, onions and peas and broccoli delight. Call the Senior Center at 464-3069.

The Smith River Neighborhood Watch group will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Smith River Community Hall, 241 W. First St.

The Business Improvement District meeting will be held at 8:30 a.m. at the Fire Hall, 520 I St. Call Billie at 464-6600.

A support group for caretakers of Alzheimer’s/dementia patients will meet the second Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m. at Addie Meedom House, 1445 Parkway Drive. Call 464-3311.

North Coast Gun Owners Association monthly meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Apple Peddler Restaurant, 308 Hwy. 101 South. Call 954-7695.

Line dancing class will be on Wednesday nights at the Ship Ashore Lounge in Smith River. Beginners’ class is from 6-7 p.m., followed by an advanced/intermediate class from 7-8 p.m. Cost is $5 for one or both times. Call 464-6866.

The Del Norte Child Care Council provides First 5 Del Norte’s following programs: Totally Toddler Time for ages 0-30 months from 10 a.m.-noon at the Family Resource Center, 494 Pacific Ave. Play and Learn will be from 10 a.m.-noon at Smith River Elementary School’s Early Learning Center, 564 First St. Call 464-8311 ext. 212.

The Lighthouse Community Center will offer the following activities every Wednesday: Quilting Fun, all ages and levels, 10 a.m.; Story Time, 4-5 p.m., listen to a story, do a craft and have a snack. Free. Call 464-2825.

Free T’ai Chi Chih classes will be from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church Fireside Room, 664 H St. This gentle moving meditation practice for ages 20 to 90 lowers blood pressure, builds bone mass and improves balance. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Call Gail at 954-8108.
