County to discuss trespassed area near Walmart

Supervisors will also hold hearing on vacating road in Klamath for development

The Del Norte County Board of Supervisors today  will discuss posting signs prohibiting trespassing and loitering on a parcel of land located near Walmart and Hidden Creek Apartments.

Supervisors will also discuss a letter authorizing Christopher Snowden and Boy Scout Troop 1077 of Crescent City to clean the trash and debris from the property, according to a county staff report. The Del Norte Solid Waste Management Authority will provide bins from Recology and the County Code Enforcement Division will pay $1,100 for disposal costs.

The county will also schedule a public hearing in connection with a resolution to vacate Klamath Circle Road in Klamath. The resolution is connected to the Yurok Tribe’s plans to build a casino and hotel complex, a visitor center and a justice center, according to the staff report.

The tribe is requesting that the county abandon Klamath Circle, which would then be redesigned for parking and one-way traffic. The street would be paved, re-striped and maintained by the Yurok Tribe, according to county staff.

The Del Norte County Board of Supervisors meets at 10 a.m. at the Flynn Administrative Center, 981 H St. Agendas are avail-
able at www.co.del-norte.ca.us.
