A local man was thrown from his motorcycle after losing control around a curve on U.S. Highway 199 last week, authorities said.
Jerry Bachmann of Crescent City was headed north on the highway near mile-marker 20 at 7:20 a.m. Thursday when he tried to round a curve and went off the east edge of the road. He was thrown from his bike about 30 feet, said California Highway Patrol Office Brandy Gonzalez.
Bachmann suffered injuries to his left leg, right forearm and back.
He was transported to Sutter Coast Hospital, then flown to Oregon Health and Sciences University, where he was listed in serious condition on Wednesday.
