Expect holiday travel delays

Drivers may experience delays on some local and regional highways as road work is scheduled on the following projects scheduled through the weekend.

Del Norte County

•U.S. Hwy. 101 from milepost 14.8 to 15.6, Caltrans will continue pavement testing from 1-1.8 miles north of Rudisill Road from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. One way traffic control is in effect and motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

From milepost 43.2 to 46.5, widening of Gilbert Creek Bridge continues between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. weekdays. One way traffic control is in effect, expect 15-minute delays.

•U.S. Hwy. 199 from milepost 25.4 to 28.1, a curve realignment project from Siskiyou Fork Road to Idlewild Maintenance Station Road continues from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. weekdays. One way traffic control is in effect and motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays.

Curry County

•Hwy. 101 from milepost 352.28 to 357.87, minor corrective work may cause single-lane closures in Brookings.

From milepost 358.81 to 361.54, Region 3 culvert repairs continues on seven projects. The highway will be restricted to one lane in each direction. No delays are expected.

Humboldt County

•Hwy. 101 from milepost 39.8 to 4, sink hole repair about 2 miles north of Redcrest continues. One lane of traffic in each direction is in effect 24/7, and motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns.

From milepost 54.6 to 57.7, a project to replace the southbound Van Duzen River Bridge continues from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays. Traffic is restricted to one lane in each direction of travel 24/7, and motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns.

From milepost 58.7 to 60.5, a median barrier project from Drake Hill Road to 12th Street continues between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays. Traffic is restricted to one lane in each direction of travel 24/7, and motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns.

Josephine County

•Hwy. 199 at Laurel, a bridge replacement and highway widening project will reduce traffic to single lane during the day between Cave Junction north to Laurel Road.

An East and West Fork Bridge replacement project involves flaggers and heavy equipment.

•Interstate 5 from milepost 58-82, a signing project will close shoulders, and south- and north-bound lanes occasionally.

Mendocino County

•Hwy. 101 from milepost 35.8 to 37.5, roadway repair because of pavement deterioration from 3.6 to 1.9 miles south of Ridgewood Ranch Road.
