Health business training rescheduled |
The North Coast Small Business Development Center is rescheduling the beginning of its “Complementary Health” free business training program in Crescent City. It was originally scheduled for this week, but will now be held Dec. 12 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Family Resource Center. There are a few spaces available for registrants, organizers said. The program is designed for — but not limited to — those in business or starting their business their businesses as massage therapists, acupuncturists, cultural healers, yoga instructors, herbalists, chiropractors, doulas, midwives and physical therapists. The program is an in-depth workshop series and requires attendance at eight once-monthly meetings continuing through June 2012. There are also required once-monthly meetings with a certified business advisor to support writing a solid business plan with marketing and financial plans. Prerequisites to quality for participation include completing and submitting an application, an interview, and an interest in a business commitment to complementary health. Registrants are asked to call Janna Clemons, (707) 464-2168, complete and submit the application form, and schedule an interview. Additionally, the SBDC’s Del Norte Office is offering a similar workshop series entitled “Urban Farmers.” This series of eight workshops is designed specifically for Del Norters who are in an agriculture or farming business — or want to be in business — selling produce, eggs, chickens, flowers, and plants. Farmer’s Markets vendors may find this series particularly useful, for example. This workshop series will begin with an information meeting today at 225 H Street, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Call Clemons for the required application form.
