There was plenty of pomp, pageantry and pop last night as Del Norte High School celebrated its 2003 homecoming.
There was a packed crowd at Mike Whalen Field for Del Norte's homecoming game against Arcata.
The 2003 Redwood Rockettes got the capacity crowd going early with a halftime routine at midfield, before the evening was turned over to the coronation ceremony.
But the evening's main attraction was the coronation of this year's homecoming royalty at halftime, featuring a western theme, with each princess being escorted into Mike Whalen Field in a truck driven by Kevin Hartwick of the Flying Bee Ranch.
After the homecoming princesses were presented to the crowd, senior Jacqueline Ramirez was named this year's homecoming queen.
Senior princesses were: Kristin Eggen, escorted by her father, Morris Eggen; Jackie Ramirez, escorted by her father Jose Ramirez; and Phoebe Olson, escorted by her father, Don Olson.
Sophomore princess was: Kendra Robson, escorted by her father, Mark Robson; junior Stephanie Hough, escorted by her father, James Hough.
Freshman princess was: Michael Anne Johnson, escorted by her father, Howard Johnson.
The coronation festivities were capped off by a fireworks display which lit up the clear night sky, along with the traditional lighting of the Del Norte Warrior "W."
