Monday provided a warm respite from the recent clear-but-cold stretch that has hit the North Coast.
Crescent City’s high was 65 degrees — 2 degrees warmer then the normal high for the date, said Ryan Aylward, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Eureka.
Until Monday, Crescent City has recently been well below its normal high by 5 to 8 degrees over the past week, Aylward said.
By tonight, Del Norters can expect a light rain leading into Wednesday, when a quarter to three-quarters of an inch is expected, Aylward said.
A brief dry period will follow, leading into a showery weekend, again likely light rains, Aylward said.
Sneaker waves will still threaten beachcombers into next week as storms over the central Pacific Ocean churn the swells that culminate into long period waves, Aylward said.
